Erin Akers has experience as an early childhood and elementary educator and administrator, and curriculum development specialist. She earned a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA and a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Rochester College in Rochester, MI.
Erin started her career as a preschool and kindergarten teacher and since has held various educational roles including Early Education Director, and Elementary Principal for eight years at a local private school. Erin also worked in educational consulting and training and was the Director of Education and Development for the Gesell Institute of Child Development (Gesell at Yale) in New Haven, CT. She has a passion for developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction, and consults with schools and organizations nationwide. Erin also has conducted educational training for educators and parents across the country. Erin joined the Bright Horizons and Brookfield Academy family as Principal in 2019.
Erin and her husband Ryan are the proud parents of four boys: Braden, Wyatt, Dylan, and Jackson. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking, and traveling in her free time.
