Preschool Montessori
Program

Children’s House, our Montessori preschool (or pre-primary) program, supports the 3- to 6-year-old child’s natural inclination to seek out a wide array of life skills and cognitive abilities.

In this mixed-aged preschool classroom, the Montessori hands-on learning approach includes relevant curriculum areas for this stage – motor skills, socialization, self-esteem, independence, a sense of order, concentration, and cooperation – as well as an atmosphere that allows children to develop at their own pace.

About Our Montessori Preschool

At Brookfield Academy, our pre-primary classrooms are guided by Montessori-trained teachers who skillfully nurture and support children as they develop and master important skills during the most critical periods of their early learning journey. Montessori education emphasizes the concept of "sensitive periods," which are the specific times in a child's life when they are most receptive to acquiring new skills, concepts, and knowledge. Our teachers are trained to recognize and respond to these moments, ensuring that each child is provided with the right tools and opportunities to thrive at the perfect time for their developmental stage.

The Montessori approach instills an empowering "I can do it" attitude in children, which is at the heart of our program. By fostering a sense of self-belief and independence, children are encouraged to take initiative, solve problems, and engage with the learning process in a way that is both meaningful and motivating. This positive reinforcement of self-reliance creates an optimal environment for building confidence, establishing a strong sense of empowerment, and laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. At Brookfield Academy, we believe that when children feel capable and supported, they develop a natural curiosity and excitement for exploring new concepts, which lasts well beyond their early years.

Each pre-primary classroom at Brookfield Academy is thoughtfully designed to create a warm, secure, and nurturing community that is tailored to meet the individual needs of every child. Our classrooms are carefully arranged to promote exploration, creativity, and social interaction, providing a safe and welcoming space where children can grow emotionally, socially, and academically. With a strong emphasis on individualized learning, the environment is structured to accommodate the diverse developmental needs of our students at every stage, allowing them to progress at their own pace while receiving the guidance and support they need to succeed.

In our pre-primary classrooms, children are given the freedom to explore their interests and engage in hands-on learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and emotional growth. Whether they are working independently, collaborating with peers, or engaging with Montessori materials, our students are continually encouraged to develop a strong sense of responsibility, independence, and self-confidence. With the support of dedicated Montessori-trained teachers, children at Brookfield Academy are empowered to reach their full potential and establish a solid foundation for future academic and personal success.

Our teachers establish close partnerships with families towards educating and nurturing the development of each child based his or her individual needs.
