Rawaa Kareem

Ms. Rawaa is the dedicated 4th and 5th grade lead teacher at Brookfield Academy, having joined the school in the 2022 school year. With a unique and diverse professional background, she brings a wealth of experience and a passion for education to her students. Ms. Rawaa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Technology in Iraq, a field where she worked as a field engineer for eight years before moving to the United States. This technical background has helped her develop strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail, qualities she now applies to her teaching approach.

After moving to the U.S., Ms. Rawaa's career path took a new direction, as she discovered her passion for teaching. She began her teaching journey in Texas, where she taught high school math, further developing her skills in communicating complex concepts to students. Her teaching experience then expanded to her role as a Special Education Para-professional at RHS for 11 years, where she supported students, primarily in math and science. Working closely with students who required additional support, Ms. Rawaa learned the importance of individualized attention and the impact of creating an inclusive classroom environment that meets the diverse needs of all learners.

Her transition from engineering to education was driven by her desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young learners. Ms. Rawaa is particularly passionate about fostering a love of learning in her students and encouraging them to think critically and creatively. She understands that each student learns in their own way and strives to tailor her teaching methods to ensure every child feels confident and engaged in their learning journey.

As the lead teacher for 4th and 5th grades, Ms. Rawaa is excited to continue making a positive impact at Brookfield Academy. She looks forward to an exciting and rewarding school year, working alongside her students to cultivate both academic growth and personal development. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Rawaa enjoys exploring new interests and spending time with her family. Her diverse background, commitment to education, and warm, supportive approach to teaching make her a valued member of the Brookfield Academy team.
