My Background

Sara is the lead language teacher for the 2nd and 3rd grade classes at Brookfield Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Oakland University, which she earned in 2020. Teaching has always been Sara's true passion, and she believes it is one of the most rewarding careers a person can have.

Although much of her teaching career has been based in Michigan, Sara has had the opportunity to broaden her experience by working in religious and private school settings in Pittsburgh for the past two and a half years. These experiences have allowed her to gain valuable insight into different educational environments, enriching her teaching methods and expanding her ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.

Sara grew up in the metro Detroit area, where she was inspired by the impactful educational experiences she had as a child, as well as the educators who motivated her to pursue a career in teaching. She believes that every child deserves an education that inspires them and fosters both academic and personal growth. Her goal as an educator is to create a classroom where children not only learn but also develop a love for learning. Sara strives to be a positive influence on her students, aiming to make a meaningful difference in their lives and help them reach their full potential.

Outside of the classroom, Sara enjoys spending quality time with her family, particularly outdoors, where they engage in various activities. She loves to cook and stays active by participating in different fitness activities. These hobbies help her maintain a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle, which she believes contributes to her ability to be the best teacher she can be.

Sara’s commitment to inspiring children, her passion for education, and her desire to make a difference are what drive her as an educator at Brookfield Academy. She is dedicated to nurturing her students' academic growth while ensuring they enjoy the process of learning.
