Tracey Leinenger

Ms. Tracey is one of the dedicated preprimary teachers at Brookfield Academy, where she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her classroom. Her journey into education began when she discovered the Montessori philosophy, which deeply resonated with her approach to learning and child development. In the summer of 2006, Ms. Tracey received her Birth to Three Montessori Certification from MECA Seton in Chicago, further solidifying her commitment to this transformative educational approach. Her deep belief in the power of hands-on, self-directed learning is at the core of her teaching style, allowing her students to thrive as they explore and grow at their own pace.

Outside the classroom, Ms. Tracey enjoys spending time with her husband, especially during the winter months when they both eagerly look forward to downhill skiing. This shared passion for the outdoors offers them an opportunity to connect with nature while enjoying an active and adventurous lifestyle. You may also notice Ms. Tracey wearing one of her own knitted creations, a testament to her love for crafting and her creative side. Whether it's a cozy scarf, sweater, or hat, these handmade items reflect her thoughtful and patient nature, much like the care she puts into her teaching.

Ms. Tracey is inspired by the timeless wisdom of Maria Montessori, and one of her favorite quotes is, “Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed.” This quote speaks to Ms. Tracey’s belief in fostering independence and self-confidence in her students. She strives to empower each child to take ownership of their learning by offering guidance and support only when necessary, allowing them to feel a sense of accomplishment and pride in their achievements.

With her compassionate and nurturing nature, Ms. Tracey creates a classroom environment where young learners feel safe, respected, and encouraged to explore their world.
