Mr. Nayak grew up in Grosse Point, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State with a degree in Marketing and Finance. Mr. Nayak started his career as a business analyst for Mervyn’s California, a subsidiary of the Target Corporation. He mentored many analysts in San Francisco, CA at this time.
Mentoring other analysts sparked his interest in teaching. Mr. Nayak returned to Michigan to complete his elementary certification at Oakland University, with a concentration in mathematics and science. He taught in the Troy School District for 15 years where he was head of the Science Department, and was nominated for teacher of the year, twice. Mr. Nayak holds a masters degree in leadership along with an administrative certification. He also has an Ed. Specialist certification in English as a Second Language (ESL).
In his spare time, Mr. Nayak enjoys spending time with his nieces and nephew. He also enjoys running, swimming, and biking.
